i have just started using Seti@home in the last few days, i am running v3.0 CLi with seti driver and seti spy and everthing is going pretty smooth.
On my other computer i set up the 3.0 GUI version and it seemed to run fine. I went to bed last night and left it running. it wasabout 80% done at 4am (late night)and it was supposed to finish at about 7am or so. My Brother got up at about 7am and turned the computer off. when i woke up i started it back up and it it was at 10%??? now either it finished the work unit and hasnt i havent received credit for it (i checked and i havent) or it didnt resume the same work unit when it was started back up? if thats the case then why would it have started back up at 10% finished?? is there any answers out there for me? thanks
alos is there any way to have the v.3.0 CLi with seti driver startup when the computer does?

I've never had that happen to me. It would seem that the wu finished and it started a new one. I don't know why you wouldn't get credit for it.

My only guess would be maybe for some reason seti thought it was a duplicate result and dropped it. Maybe someone else can come along and give you a better answer.

To launch seti at startup just put a shortcut to SetiDriver in your startup folder. When SetiDriver starts it automatically launches the seti client.🙂

Edit: Seti shows you as having done 2wu's so far.

Also, use WordPad to look at setispy.log, it will show completion times for any WUs that completed when SETISpy was running.

Check under the seti@home directory to see if a sub-directory was formed.
I had 2 instances where wu's were put in a sub dir when they weren't able to complete for some reason.

For some reason, I don't always get credit right away for my work units.
But the credit has always shown up eventually.

There won't be a log file unless SetiSpy was running. The one that gave problems was the gui running without any caching software.:frown:

well another thing i was wondering was i think i lost a work unit on my computer with CLi v 3.0 and setidriver and seti spy. what happened was it tried to transmit and i guess for some reason it couldnt connect to the seti server, so i tried to stop transmit, and hit transmit again and then the value for ready to transmit changed to zero and a credit was not added...hmmm, is it usual to lose a completed work unit? i have a constant internet connection so i thought it would automatically?...i have my cache set to 5...so will it do 5 WU and then transmit all 5 or will it do them one by one?....sorry for all the questions, and thanks for all the great help

If you have the auto transmit box checked then it'll automatically send the wu as soon as it's finished.

I've done 1684wu's and have never lost one.

Are you checking your stats here after you send in a wu? It shows you having completed 3wu's so far.
