Can anyone help me pick out a reciever for my Home Theater setup??

I bought a 46" Mits HDTV Upgradable 16:9 and Mits Progressive scan DVD player to go with it. However I still need either a "home theater in a box" type setup, or I'd like to use my current speakers with a reciever and update the speakers later on.

Thanks

I've had good experiences with Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer and Sony models. It's usually a bad idea to buy the cheapest model of any brand (cheapest 2 models for Sony) as the quality is much lower.

Crutchfield.com has a good selection to look at and excellent service.

Edit: they also have the JVC Maetryx recommends, on sale for $329 (or $319 I forget) The USB input for PC sound looks interesting.

What is your pricepoint? You can get a receiver for $100 or spend a zillion bucks on it!\

Considering your video setup you'd be remiss to get a theater in a box. That's like a brand name computer; can't upgrade it. Want something better you gotta get something new.

You'd do well to get a nice receiver now and use your old speakers for a while and upgrade later.

I agree Skoorb, thats why I don't really want to do a "Home Theater in a Box"
