Can anyone help me? i'm trying to set up 4 speakers to my comp but...

i just got a set of 4 speakers today...i'm trying to set it up on my computer...using nvidia nforce sound system (nforce mobo), i pluged all in, and in the nvidia nforce control panel i set speakers to 4 speakers already...but when i test it, the front 2 speakers very loud, but the other 2 (left surround and right surround) speakers da voice very soft ...

can anyone help ah?
how to set up so that all have equal voice?
and the 2 speakers that got soft voice, i actually can hear the "zzzz" sound even though i'm not playing any music or sound...doesn't that mean it already quite loud liao? but the sound come out very soft....

i'm using altec lansing multimedia computer sound system powered subwoofer...

music isn't supposed to be thru 4 channels.

dvds on the otherhand do have 4 channel support.

zzz sound means u have bad shielding somewhere, probably since ur using analog or ur using shitty cable.

If you can hear soft music through the back speakers, then you have a settings or hardware problem. On the other hand if you heard nothing, it's probably because your sound card does not replicate the rear channels since Mp3's are stereo only. I would check all connections on your comp and speakers and check out the volume for everything.

Would you mind editing your use of words please. Perhaps something along the lines of "Poor quality" cable would be better.

I let you off for being new, but I dont appreciate people who swear. Its a sign of insecurity and lazyness.




As for your question iori57, make sure that the windows speaker settings are not conflicting with the nForce settings.

I found that was a problem with my 4 channel's when i ran them with winXP.

Even if the company supplied drivers / software suites were set to 4 speakers, windows would not like it due to its personal audio configuration settings.
