Can anyone give me any information on grants for college?

1st things 1st, ill explain the situation and what i know about grants.

My current bills are : $2100 @ $600 month (dental bills), $80 a month (student loans), $45 a month (internet), plus a couple random low credit card bills.

I am trying to get into college, and im not going to beat around the bush, my family is flat ass broke, and cannot help me in any way. I just quit my job at sams club last month and the bills are piling up. I cant stand working retail another second (did it for 7 years) and theres nothing else available in this horrible city (Erie, PA).

Im looking for a way out, my bank account is empty, and selling my only possessions is rapidly becoming my only option.

What i know about grants: there are tons of them, and there are grants that can help pay dental bills and grants to assist paying for school ( i know about fafsa and pell ). I dont know how to locate other grants, searching google and yahoo only give me results that look like scam sites (unclesamsmoney.com) and countless sites that all look very similar reccomending them as the best! 5/5!! 5 stars!! etc. pointing to scam site in my mind all the more.

I also know that grants often require "essays" and i have no problem working for grant money.

Any info on how to get out of this spiderweb from hell and on my way to college will be greatly appreciated.

Cliffs:
Poor as hell, have bills, want to go to college.

Do you know about the FAFSA Form? I don't have the link at the moment but it's the form every student who needs financial aid is told to fill out.

Fill this out and submit it as soon as possible AFTER Jan 1st. The fin. aid is first come first serve, and they'll likely offer up a mix of grants and loans.

Also, try contacting whomever the creditor is for your dental bills to see if you can stretch out the repayment term to get lower payments (or better yet, get repayment deferred). Your student loans are also most likely deferrable.

Yup... HN has the link! Go there, that is the ultimate source for fin. aid and it's FREE. If your HS grades were good, you'll get a lot more free money as well.

Thanks for the reply in advance, the dental loan is actually privately through the dentist, not exactly a big time creditor, while i can get the payments lowered i cannot get it deferred.

I do know about the FAFSA and waiting until Jan 1st, i was wondering more about the other private grants, or possibly any state grants (PA) that i would have access to.

What about private grants? How can i find information about possibly helping to pay for the dental bills (FYI it was over $10,000, and more work needs to be done)

What about those "grant list sites"? There seems to be quite a few, and they all want small membership fees. They reek of scam to me, but i guess theres a chance they could be legit.
