I have it in only word that was done for me. I dont have word nor the money to get it. How would I go about changing it to one of the 2 formats? I am not familiar with either of them and I have nothing but lousy word pad on this rig. I just need to know what the two, I googling but Im not getting anywhere for I having a hell of a time understanding the jargon.

Anyone care to help me with this and point me in the right direction with the right program to use so I can get this sent out asap? A free or trial program would be very useful for I doubt I would need it again once I reformat my resume into the one needed and save it.

Thanks in advance.

If you want to use ASCII format, just copy and paste the contents into Notepad and save the file.

Or if you want to use HTML format, you can just use Notepad to create an HTML file. Just save the file extension as .htm or .html instead of .txt when you save it. There are a few tags you will have to add of course, but nothing too complicated. You can use this link if you need help:

Text

Open Word, copy the contents of your resume, alt-tab to Notepad and paste it in. Once you add the tags at the beginning and end and save it as the correct extension, you have your html document.

Have you tried to open it with Wordpad?

I do everything that I can in plain text now. When I started doing that, my productivity went up a lot because I don't spend much time at all formatting anything, which used to chew up my time a lot.

My basic resume has been like that since I started keeping one around. There are no indents, bold or italics on it. It cuts and pastes wonderfully.

:p

I figure that's why they want it in either of those formats--because when it comes to anything else they're clueless.
