Can anyone fly well in Battlefield 2 with the keyboard?

It takes some practice.

Just remember to use the keyboard for turning. Only use the mouse for going up or down. At least until you get the hang of it.

The MEC fighters are the easiest to learn on IMO. The USMC jets are the hardest.

yes, I fly decent with the the KB/Mouse combo. Joystick would be better though.

kb/mouse for me, although i have trouble trying to hover/land on the carrier so i usually just fly over it a couple of times to get reloaded/fixed

I've got a friend who's a great helo pilot and he uses nothing but kb/mouse. I, on the other hand, who use a flightstick, have the uncanny ability to always make my helo land on its prop. So there you go.

I have a joystick and I can't master the jets to save me. Helo's are ok. I need to figure out what I have the parachute command bound to, because I forget to check it once i'm in game and end up crashing

Press f10 to get 3rd person view.

Use ADSW to control plane. And instead of the mouse, use the arrow keys.

the bf series is not meant to be a "real" flight sim, but personally i feel the helos / planes in the bfseries are way too easy to fly. the dc mod for 1942 was a lot harder to fly which i really liked.

I'm very good with the chopper and flag hopping with a fully loaded Huey. I can't fly the jets at all though.

Keyboard mouse only, inverted axis.

I can do the jets ok, but for the most part, I just use them to get to the enemy's artillery location real quick.

I used to rely solely on the keyboard and mouse for the helicopter, but I bought a joystick to use for the plane. Now I use the joystick to control the pitch of the helicopter, and the keyboard to control the yaw and rotor speed. Otherwise, the stupid super sensitive "rudder" on the joystick makes me end up turning in weird directions. Other than that, hovering is so much easier now! And, I can actually dogfight with other planes with the joystick. Before I would just kinda hop in one and then eject over the opposite side of the map for a quick ride.

LOL. I just stick to tanks and APCs. I will have to practice aircombat in single player, if possible.
