I want to buy SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7770 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 at very very low price from my friend in 5k=5000PKR n which iz best in my budget.

I read all the previous post or forums about optiplex graphics card upgrades. And i know the optiplex 760 takes no more than 7.5inch long card. can i fit SAPPHIRE HD 7770 inside optiplex 760 tower???
I have a cooler master 500Watt psu in optiplex. So there is no issue about
power. what about if i remove the dual bracket or Cut off the Bracket from the card??? Or this card makes any obstruction towords the Heatsink in optiplex..........Any one hav experience???

Please help me.... I only only only need this card becasue of its price.

Thanx for ur Co-opretation.

There's more than one 7770, so it's hard to say.
You would have to take off the bracket, and you're probably going to have clearance issues with the CPU heat sink. Break out a tape measure, measure the space you have between rear and heat sink, then measure the heat sink on the card to see if it will fit. You can cut the plastic shroud.
A dual-fan vapor X wouldn't fit, but there are some that could be cut down:

WAIT!! One very important point is that most of the Optiplex machines do NOT have a 6-pin power cord for a video card and the 7770 needs one. You'd have to get the hard-to-find SATA-to-6pin cable on your own, since most Optiplex machines also don't have the 4-pin molex connectors either.

Unless you're considering replacing Dell's quite-good power supply, I'd seriously get the Geforce 750TI instead - it's faster and doesn't need an extra power plug at all.

(Unless you're getting the 7770 used VERY cheap like I did for only $40! That made getting the $10 power cable worth the effort...)

Either of those cards should fit just fine, like my current Opltiplex 9010 or many others I've worked on.

ANOTHER POINT: I checked your model - its BTX design has one critical flaw: the video card bracket MUST be a single-slot design!! A two-slot card's bracket won't physically fit since there's no empty bracket above it. The card itself can be larger than one slot, but it must only need a single bracket to screw/hold in place.

Newegg has a search option for single vs. dual slot cards... start with that.
Here's a couple good choices:

^^ Try reading the OP. He already mentioned removing the bracket and he has a Cooler Master 500W PSU.

Don't have to be a jerk about it. :colbert:

Okay, so power supply isn't an issue - the bracket still will be. Slicing the heck out of it to make it fit will void the warranty and possibly damage it. If it's designed to vent out the rear, the vent will be blocked.
