Can anyone explain to me motorcycle tire sizes?

I am looking for a tire for an 18" x 1.85" rim. How does that translate into the style of rim where the number are organized like this...110/90-18 ?

Google Avon, Dunlop or Metzler for your answer.

DO NOT install an over sized tire on that rim...It will kill handling.

Yea, I am (hopefully) getting an old enduro (1975). It has on/off tires right now, but looking for some soft terrain (so I can go dirtbiking w/ friends).

having trouble findind tires that match that rim size...
