Oh, more or less worried than I was from this?

So, how was the juice?

I didn't try any :(

Update:

Cashew Juice errr... at least expired cashew juice tastes a lot like a cross between orange juice and pineapple juice.

Good man.

Well MrDudeMan, your window of opportunity expired. You missed my birthday too. I hope you're happy.

:( Please forgive me. You'll understand once you get the gift. I'm designing and manufacturing it myself so it is taking a little longer than expected. I will send it to your new address once you update us with that info.

So I'm just supposed to post my new address in this thread? That seems rather uncreative and uninspired.

I could scramble the address into three parts and mail them to 3 different AT members who have to come together to figure it out :p

If you go this way, I'll volunteer to be one of the message assemblers :)

How about some kind of scavenger hunt? You put up a list of objects which must be assembled, have a picture taken of them, and posted in this thread. Make the list items such that they have to come from all over the place.

Examples:
Sand from a beach in California
Bottle cap from a beer exclusive to Maine
etc etc

Make it like, 10 items total. If a member finds an item, they claim it, post a pic to prove they have it, then designate someone to be a repository, get the finders to send the items there, have that person take a picture of all the items together and post it here, then give out your address again. The repository's address will be given out only via PM to the finders so as to not have them become the new recipient of crazy ATOT postage.

That's pretty good.

It would be cool if the last person got to send me the items so I'd have a collection of random stuff from across the country in the end.

I don't know if people are going to be willing to pay postage on this silly task though ;)

I've certainly started many conversations with my letter collection though.

maybe you could PM people your address so they can send you letters.

I could send you something from Canada.

Well I feel like making ATOT work for it a little bit ;)

This morning I thought just a little bit about the scavenger hunt idea. I really like the idea, but I'm having a hard time coming up with what to put on the list.

I'm thinking there could be four levels of my description here.

Loosest it would be "find something unique to your state"

Medium it could be "find something in CA that comes from the beach"

Medium it could also be "find something that is associated with the word 'surf' in CA"

Tight it could be "collect sand from a beach in CA"

I could probably come up with something "Tight" for regions of the US, but it might be more fun to see what people come up with for one of the "Medium" descriptions?

(Same general logistics that silverpig came up with though)

Thoughts?

Ok, thoughts on this?

I just picked some random words... most of which are associated with geography.

I'd start a new thread with this since it's kind of a different animal than the rest of this thread.

This is an attempt at the second "Medium" level above.

Find something that is associated with the words below from the following regions

US Regions
WA/OR...................Rainfall
CA.........................Beach
HI/AK/Puerto Rico...Coast
NV/AZ/UT/NM..........Dry
ID/MT/ND/SD..........Population
WY/CO...................Peak
TX..........................Big
NE/KS/OK...............Twister
MN/WI....................Home
IA/MO/IL/AR...........Central
LA/MS/AL................Gulf
MI/IN/OH/PA...........Industry
WV/HK/TN...............Appellation
FL/GA.....................Heat
SC/NC/VA...............Atlantic
MD/DC/DE/NJ..........Colony
NY...........................City
CT/RI/MA.................Patriot
VT/NH/ME.................Maple

Extra Credit

Canada..............................Tank
Mexico / Central America.....Paradise
South America....................Frontier
Africa.................................Predator
Europe...............................Castle
Asia...................................Harmony
Australia.............................Crab

Hopefully this list of words isn't offensive to anyone. Part of the reason I'm thinking that keeping things less specific (like 'a cheesehead hat from WI') is to let people be more creative and get some more creativity going. Show me WI isn't all about cheese for example ;)

For logistics, I haven't asked yet, but someone on AT nearby me that can collect the items from people and then physically deliver (rather than mail) the completed group of items to me might be preferred. HomeBrewerDude would be my first thought since I see him almost every weekday ;)
If I want to be lame, I could make it my work address and then have stuff sent to me at work. That's a bit pointless though since the "goal" here is to get an address to send stuff to me directly.

Additional rules that have not been covered already by silverpig could be that the item doesn't necessarily have to be mailed from that region, but it does have to originate there.

For example, if I had Antarctica on the list and I had "barren" as the word, maybe you went to Antarctica and brought some rocks back to California where you live. Since they're originally from Antarctica, it's all good even though they're sent from CA.

Maybe mailing rocks isn't very cost effective though ;)

Thoughts?

EDIT: HomeBrewerDude said I could PM people his work address so they could send objects there. He mentioned a weight / size limit though since it will be going through the mail department at work. (Don't send a bowling ball or a duffel bag full of packing peanuts)

HomeBrewerDude is going to give me a different address (his home rather than work) along with some guidelines shortly (such as no sending dildos since his family might get the package and open it :p ). I'll make a new thread with instructions in it later (probably this evening?).

I already got the stuff for Asia. Just waiting on an address and feedback from HomeBrewerDude on what color dildo he prefers. Also, I signed him up for some mail order bride catalogs while I was at it. I mean, what better way to achieve harmony than to pick out your spouse from a full color catalog.

Sorry guys, for the "scavenger hunt" stuff, there's a dedicated thread.

http://forums.anandtech.com/me...=2329367&enterthread=y

Please post in there to claim an area and I can send you a PM with mailing instructions.

I'm trying to keep it all in that thread to be the most fair for who is claiming what locations first.

(Of course you're welcome to send something from a region that's already claimed too ;) )
