Can anyone explain this?

Try another disk benchmark first to make sure it's not just that program (never used -- or heard of -- "Dr. Hardware").

Onboard RAID, or an add-in card? Did you change any drivers? *Something* obviously changed...

Onboard RAID. Not sure if any drivers are changed, though i have installed the latest nVidia stuff and that has RAID manager. Might have changed the original drivers?

Would drivers really reduce the performance that much? And if so, what to do?

Try System Restore to an earlier date before you made that change.

Hmmm, it seems it may be months ago and system restore only goes back a month. Does anyone know how to restore its raid config and would this be risky?

First question. How many drives do you have? My read says one drive - striped in RAID. Why? With 1 drive, unless it is required in order to access a SATA drive, RAID 0 brings nothing to the party.

If it is just one drive - then why not just disable the RAID 0 and access the drive as a single master drive?
