Can anyone explain this to me?

Even in other comments i hear people saying, we wouldn't mess with such and such a country because they have nothing we want (eg oil).

I guess I don't get it? Did we steal a bunch of oil from Iraq now that we invaded their country? Did we get any oil for free? Someone explain this to me.

Yes we went just for oil, thats why our gas prices are so cheap...

Oil for the gas companies is the heart of the argument. The current administration has a lot of ex-Oil people working in it. I've also had people ask why the Coalition (US) didn't topple Mugabe (Zimbawe) or the militias messing up Sudan. The human rights violations in those countries are much much worse.

Technically we secured the oil so government contractors could sell it. The public see's no benefit, as with anything Republicans do.
