Hi just bought a p 4 2.4b retail processor,i had to get rid of the box and did not note the stepping.
If i can remember it said c1 on the box.
I downloaded sisift sandra it says b0,does that mean b for the 2.4b or what,im sure it said c1 on the box.
Can someone (preferably someone with a p4 2.4b c1 stepping) that it says c1 in sisoft sandra and not bo.
Thanx in advance.
Duncan.

what is the defualt voltage?

if 1.5 then B0
if 1.525 then C1

also these CPUs will have a new CPUID of 0F27h, as opposed to 0F24h of the B0 (use wcpuid to cehck)

also ifyou can remember the SLxxx code?

definitely check the voltage thing, but I have to say I check my p4 box and the stepping is no where listed on the box!!!! The sl code is what you need to look up the stepping on the Intel website...I don't think that info is on the retail box...

In Sandra click on the CPU & Bios info then make sure that processor 1 is highlighted in the device box at the top. Then check and see what it says for the stepping mask. What you saw on the box was the first two digits of the version number which doesn't necessarily mean that it's a C1 stepping chip.

Ok,thanx for input guys,i checked in wpcuid it says BO stepping.
I guess thats not a bad thing considering the c1 steppings are having problems.
Im still happy with it and overclocked it upto 2.9 mhz@160 fsb,air cooled, locked pci/agp buses.
Temps are 35 idle,49 under prime 95 full load.
So there it goes, decent overclock too.
PS>vcore at 1.525(default 1.500)
