Sorry buddy, I remember trying it, but couldnt even get it to work.

Something about my processor wasnt supported. Must have been a dual-core thing.

dayum :(

i got it working perfectly, and i can't face going back :(

The massively pumped draw distance, displacement bump mapping, and extra shrubbery and insect life made quite a difference to how it looked, imho :(

It may rip it up all right, blocky shadows and all ;)

** edit hey, by the way, the blocky shadows are fixed with the 8800's. I checked last week

Awesome

Question for ya, is my 6800GS faster than a 6800U, running at 575 core/1225 mem atm...?

did you unlock the card? if so, it should be faster than a 6800 Ultra. last time i checked, a stock 6800GS was actually close to performing to a 6800GT...

yeah my mem bandwidth is comfortably on top of the ultra, but not so sure about the core...

secretanchitman:

It's NV42, so it isn't unlockable (the advantage being that it clocks far higher than the old GT/Ultra cores)...

A reference 6800GS (425/1000?) runs on par with a 6800GT afaik..

It has more theoretical fill rate than a 6800ultra (16 pixel pipes at 400mhz core iirc), and has higher clocked memory also, so yes it's faster :)
