Can anybody help me with a Nforce2 Chaintech question?

Anandtech did a review on Chaintech's Nforce motherboard. It was model 7NJS. Review here.

There are several sites that sell this model and the model is listed on Chaintech's website, which is here.

Newegg sells a model by Chaintech that nobody else seems to carry and it is not listed on Chaintech's website. The model Newegg sells is the 7NJL1

Is this an OEM board or a model made just for Newegg? I know Newegg does good business, but they aren't that big to have a model made for them to only carry.

Does anybody know anything about this?

Thanks for the links lowlight. I wonder why Newegg is the only vendor who seems to carry this, and why this model is listed on Chaintech's site. I think those reasons alone are enough to make me go with another brand.

Seems the 7NJL1 is one stripped down version of the 7NJS. It seems that Chaintech has released many different varitions.

Chaintech's "deluxe" version (7NJS) cost more than Asus' "deluxe" version, and I think I would trust Asus much more for their quality.

now thats no reason to go switchin on good ol' Chaintech!

the 7NJL1 is just, yes as you said, a stripped down version. I dont think it comes with cbox2 and all the extra goodies, but im sure nonetheless as good a board as the 7NJS!

ive heard nothin but good things out of this board (7NJS) and it seems that any issues people have had were quickly and easily resolved. Plus with the (2) new BIOS(es) we gain multiplier control, and possibly in the future we can see 200+ mhz FSB settings?


but good fast well-performing board, good overclock options, a million voltages to tweak, and tons of cool extra stuff. Cant beat rounded cables and the Cbox2 with temp monitoring!

I would get the Epox or Abit before I got the chaintech. I don't chaintech, heck my Dual Athlon boatd is a chaintech. BUT they shot them selves in the foot by not using the nForce2 sound.
