Hi there
I have recently changed my motherboard from an Abit KT7A-R to an IWill KK266-R, using the same PSU (300W Sparkle). On my KT7A, the 5V line was always good, sitting at 5.03V and dipping to 4.83V under load, but my 12V was always poor sitting at 11.73V and sometimes less. However, when I installed the IWill my 12V is up at around 12.20V and never dips as far as 12.00V even, but my 5V is 4.63V or less under load!
This creates a mixed bag as far as overclocking results go, because the KK266 is much more stable and allows overclocking higher than the Abit, but because the 5V line is so low it makes it LESS stable than the KT7A.
Should I just go get an Enermax 431W? Why would the same PSU give better 5V readings on the Abit?
