I did a search for "Bodog" and PMed several people on here that had talked about it before in previous threads, but I wanted to create this thread to get any more information from people that currently use it. I created an account last night on the site but couldn't fund it since my credit card was rejected. I'm going to try a few other credit cards today and see what happens. Apparently, most banks want nothing to do with online gambling sites so most credit cards are rejected. I thought it was illegal to gamble online now in the U.S.....but apparently from what I've read and seen, you can still do it in the U.S. but it's just hard to deposit money.

Questions for people that have used Bodog:

*How did you fund your account now that U.S. online gambling laws prevent many things?

*Do you like the service? Have they ever screwed you out of anything? Have you ever called them, and did their call center reps. speak English fairly well?

*How easy is it to cash out? I saw that they will write you 1 free check per month with a maximum of $3K able to be withdrawn by check. Do they send you the check fairly fast?

*Were you surprised by any fees when you started playing?

*Instead of depositing money into your account by credit card, have you used either MyPaylinQ or eWalletXpress? Did you like it? Hidden fees? I saw that eWalletXpress has a 10% fee if you want to cash out money from your eWalletXpress account, but no fees to transfer/deposit money back and forth between your Bodog account.

Any other comments on the service that could help out a newbie?

arent the odds practically similar across the board? i compared with betus.com a few times and I found it to be about the same... or when Yahoo Sports used to list out odds for multiple betting sites.

betus is pretty bad too. Pinnacle is pretty good.

what's your definition of "practically similar"?

For example, bodog is paying +800 on colts to win SB, pinnacle is paying +831. Bodog paying +15000 for buffalo, pinnacle +16021.

Vikings moneyline +190 vs +200
dolphins line -125 vs -108 (WTF)

it's huge margins.

Can anybody confirm that there is around a 1 month wait if you cash out using the free 1 check per month service that Bodog offers? If so that is ridiculous, I don't want to wait that long. And if you use one of their other services like MyPaylinQ or eWalletXpress, you got to pay fees to cash out....I know eWallet has a 10% fee....FUCK THAT, if you transfer $200 to your ewallet account from your Bodog account and want the money back? BAM, $20 just to transfer it to your bank account.

Why don't you find a real local bookie? Ask around, it didn't even take me past 1 degree of separation to find one.

LOL, yeah right. I'm not going to go to some shady bookie. Plus, I'd have no idea where to even go to find a quality bookie.

For those of you that have Bodog, what do you see for your deposit options? Someone else online that is located in the U.S. as well said they have these for their options:

DBT Direct Bank Transfer
My Palinq
Money Transfer
Rapid Transfer
ewallet
Bankwire
click2pay
credit card

Yet I only see a couple, I do not have a direct bank transfer option. Screen shot of my screen:

My bookie, I call a toll free number, and some call center rep picks up, I give my passcode, ask for details, make bet. The following week, bookie shows up and we settle.

Have you checked out sportsbook.com?

I've used them lots in the past and they've been pretty good. I funded via Citi CC, but since it's considered a foreign transaction, a $3 per $100 fee is charged.

sportsbook.com also will give one free check cashout per month and their customer service is pretty good.

if you need to look online for your gambling....

you have an issue.
seek help.

LOL, about time somebody rode into this thread on their high horse. Of course I'm going to look online for my gambling, it's easy and safe especially on a trusted site like Bodog.

Now get off my thread and prepare yourself for Sunday service which I'm sure you attend regularly, while I prepare to make some money gambling....WOOT!

BTW guyver01, I hope your not planning on going to the Dragonman machine gun shoot here in Colorado Springs this weekend like you mentioned in my other thread, I'd hate to have an accident while shooting...........

I signed up for bodog a couple months ago, mostly to bet on UFC.

I'll probably bet on some football, maybe baseball playoffs...stupid stuff like that.

I started with only $50 via credit card - mostly just to check things out and see how it worked.

So far, so good. No fees that I've seen, I have not tried to take out any money, and bodog is one of the most reputeable (geez, is that even close?) online gambling sites based on the bit of research that I did.

They had a 10% match when I signed up...not sure if that's still going on. Good luck.

Never ever bet on any team you have some kind of emotional attachment to.

Yeah, I thought about that. But I'm still not sure if I want to bet on the Penn State game, mostly because it is going to be so hard to predict anything since this will be the first real game both teams have played this season. I could see Bama blowing out Penn State, or Penn State making it a close game if our defense steps up. Either way it's a long shot for Penn State to win, but with the spread at 13 right now on Bodog, it's not easy to choose. Will Penn State cover......hmmmmmmmm

Sweet, I won $50 on a $10 bet, my first bet online as well.

I did a 3 team parlay bet, I bet that Michigan/Ohio State would straight out win, and that Alabama would cover the spread.
