Sounds crazy enough but I want to buy a new cpu but want to wait on the motherboard

since there will be some new ones coming out soon. A friend has an Elite Group k7s5a

that has DDR but is limited to 266mhz fsb (without modification). Its just a thought but

can anyone throw me a few tips? Thanks

first off it will work fine at a 266 fsb but the clock will be 20% lower... next that assumes that the k7s5a will support the cpu at all (you are talking the next core revision right? w/ the larger l2, i can't remember the name right now). if you wanted to increase the performance you could unlock the multiplier and turn that up a bit but i don't know how well the ecs board will do that...
