Let's say the road has 4 lanes, 2 going north, 2 going south. He's parked facing north and I'm driving down south. The 4 lanes are seperated by a double yellow line in the middle. Can he make a illegal uturn and pull me over?

I would assume so...

No officers should not be able to perform any illegal moves while driving and this is including but not limiting to driving over the speed limit even in emergency situations just because they are the POLICE doens't mean they have the right to drive however fast they want and I think it's also illegal for regular drivers to have flashing lights on the top of their cars so police shouldn't be able to do that as well and last but not least there's no way it's legal for ordinary people to run red lights at fast speeds while flashing their lights during emergency situations so WHY SHOULD THE POLICE?

I'm not going to even mention using guns, night sticks, and handcuffs.

They have the right to use necessary measures to uphold the law. That includes lethal-force, batons, physically subduing a criminal, running red-lights with sirens blazing, speeding, etc. BTW, they are also allowed to toss spiders into the back-seat.

For a second I was like "wait a minute...he really thinks that?"

Then I kept reading and realized what you were getting at ;)

Do you actually believe this. I have talked to 3 officers who are good friends (one is my brother in law) about this very topic and it is largely accepted that they will let other officers off for this type of stuff when they are off duty. What does that make you think they do when they are on duty?

Of course they can do it (they don't even have to be chasing anyone or upholding the law). It kind of sucks, but it is reality.

Having said that, if you get them on tape doing illegal stuff just to get to a donut shop and release it to the press, I'm sure the officer would be "reprimanded".

OP, of course they can. Heck, I've seen them go straight through grass median to get on the other direction of traffic.
