Can an iPod use USB 1.1 or must it be USB 2.0 or Firewire?

I think it works very slowly over 1.1. I'd never do it though, it'd take all day to update it.

1.1 works. it is backward compatible. firewire works too.

firewire 400
firewire 800
usb 1.1
usb 2.0

I thought firewire 800 had different connectors than firewire 400.

trying to transfer songs over 1.1 would be horrendously slow. not even worth it IMO.
