I spent $40 on this lovely heatsink and i don`t want to sell it. I used it on my c2 566@878 but i`ve traded the c2 for a duron. Can the retaining clips fit the socket a? I have already cut of its feet.

The issue is if the clips can be modded to provide enough tension. AMD specs 12-20lbs of clip pressure. I have no idea how to measure this. The Alpha 6035 has a special clip for socket A, don't know about the 66.

Well,
I saw recenly on phamcomputer.com that they got a shipment of pep66 alphas that work for the amd and intel chips, the difference between the new one and old one is the clip, check it out they do a comparison, that should clarify things.

The only thing you have to do is cut the plastic feet off the bottom of the heat sink with a very sharp blade they come off no problem.... Im useing a PEP-66 and it works great.......

I did exactly the same thing except i used it with the celeron. So i guess I just have to wait for the chip :)
