can an 8X agp card work in a 4X board

Can a card that says has an 8X interface work in a 4X? I have seen some cards list both. I only have a 4x agp slot. If it can work, I understand it will be at the 4X speed.

That brings up another question:

Is a made for 4x card faster or better than using an 8x agp card in a 4x agp slot?

Yes, it will run fine. There is no noticeable difference between 4X and 8X. Put it in, and enjoy. 4X/8X runs the same imo.

4x cards will always work in a 8x slot and vice-versa.
