Video board is the last thing to buy for the system I am putting together. I am either going with a barebones PCI-E board for $125, or try to find an 8800 GTS for $250.

If anyone knowws where a deal is on one of these, please post.

nope, and doubt you'll see one in the immediate future.

perhaps in a few months they will drop and/or have rebates. they only launched last week, so if history repeats (as it usually does) they won't drop for a few months or until they get competition in that market segment.

I'm sure you can stretch the price range and spend an extra 30$, plus if you were wanting to buy CoD2 or Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, that will actually be a good deal.

Thanks for the input.

The EVGA card comes with Dark Messiah and XFX comes with Call to Duty.

How much do these programs cost as standalone?

Now here is the real NOOBIE question as I have never played one of these games, but what kind of controller or handheld thing do you need to play these or any other games?

I am also going to look at each of these to see what warranty comes with them.

Finally, thanks for everyone's input.

Call of duty is a shooter game, while dark messiah is a RPG, I'd go with call of duty, i wasn't too impressed with dark messiah when i played the demo.
