can all hdd-based players transfer songs to other computers? & other questions...

i couldn't find any information on these subjects:
1. when i transfer songs to the player, can i upload them to any other computer?
2. what player has the best anti-skip? i've heard some discouraging things about ipod, not much about others
3. do any players sort by folder, or are they all id3 tag dependent?

also, feel free to post gripes as well. tia
