Can AIW's breakout box be disassembled?

I'm going to need to mount video / audio ports on the front of an ITX-based HTPC I'm planning to build. I'll be using an All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro, and I noticed it comes with a break-out box.

Problem is, it's packed in a thick rubberized casing which really doesn't lend itself to mounting on a faceplate.

For reference, I plan on using the floppy bay / panel on this case. As you can see, space is a premium on such a small slot.

I realize I can just have the breakout box in the case and route extensions to the front panel, but I would much prefer not to have the it taking up room in the case. If there's a smaller version, or one with only loose cables not mounted in a rubber box, that would be ideal.

The other option is to cut the rubber... but I don't know if I trust myself. :D

Suggestions?
