Hi.
I have the above mentioned laptop. Is it powerfull enough to play blu ray movies if i buy and install a bd drive. The cpu is a intel T4200 (2GHz, 800MHz fsb) 3Gb DDR3 ram. Intel integrated graphics gma 4500M. Is optical drives for laptop standardized or do i need a model specific drive

most notebooks use a standardized optical drive format, and it looks like the 5635z does.
The gma 4500m is capable of playing bluray movies assuming you're still using Windows Vista or newer.

I remember anandtech saying it wasn't perfect, but was smooth enough to not be too much of an issue.
I think this was it.

You'll need to obtain bluray playback software if you're planning on watching commercial blurays (if the drive you purchase doesn't come with any). Cyberlink PowerDVD is the standard, and you might be able to find older versions for cheap, some people like Corel WinDVD, and there are a few others.
