Can a VPN allow you to stream at a higher quality on a cellular that limits streaming to 480p ?

Im unsure what you are asking.

It wont make your connection faster and able to sustain a higher bitrate if thats what you are asking.

But if your cell company nerfs/blocks your ability to stream anything in high quality and limits it to 480 then yes a VPN should be able to get around that because your cell provider will not know what the traffic is to block it.

No, even if the VPN is advertised as higher bandwidth you will be limited by your own bandwidth. That said, why would you want to stream anything on a phone that would cost an arm and a leg in data overusage not to mention it's a tiny screen compared to a computer monitor or TV. For on the go I would just preload a couple movies or something so it's not using data.

If your ISP nerfs the connection based on what you're doing only, then yes...a VPN could circumvent that.

I'm assuming that the cellular service is what it being discussed and not the handset itself for viewing purposes. I can't imagine watching >480P on a cell phone.
