Can a video card help improve system stability?

I recently got a 9800pro 256 meg and flashed it to a XT.
After flashing i was amazed at the stable feel the system had, everything just got faster.
so i tried 210 MHz fsb and its stable at 1.65 vcore. at 2-2-2-5 timings!
I have never gotten this board past 203 MHz.
What caused this to happen and how can a VGA card make such a difference?

It sounds like everything is running smoother, although I don't know why. Did your system crash a lot before? How does it "feel" more stable?

By feel I mean that normal windows tasks and functions happen more smoothly, apps open faster, boots faster, all to a noticeable degree
I am running omega drivers also but i started with the old cats from the 9800.
and for stability i ran ati tool in Scan mode p95 and this little gem
http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/ all at once
ran fine all night no errors or temp problems, 43 CPU and 53 on the probe taped to the back of the gpu.
my system is really doing good.
