Greetings, The scenario: at work I put my laptop in a docking station; want to connect other PC to monitor; use KVM switch to go back and forth between computers. Does any information travel backwards through USB KVM connections? What about remoting into docking station and viewing whatever is on monitor? I am assuming something like this can happen... why else would there be secure KVM switches? Thoughts? thanks, definitely notmacgyver

Yes, a system admin can potentially log in to and monitor any computer on the network if they have the right tools. Particularly if the computers are part of a domain.

However, it would happen through the network, not through a KVM switch.

Bear in mind also that if you are connected to the network at work, the sysadmin is technically not spying and has assumed right of access to any machine connected to the network in almost every case in the US, no reasonable right of privacy applies when connected to a business network.
