Can a steam deck theoretically replace my desktop pc?

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-9100 CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650

(the above is my current pc, I've since halted upgrading the cpu due to this new steam deck possibility)

So

Assuming I get the steam desk dock with it to connect to my acer monitor

My concern is USB inputs. Couldn't i just connect a usb hub and daisy chain from the single usb port?(If it only has one)

Thoughts?

Does anyone know about latency issues? Last I looked at the Steam Deck, pretty much everything was still subject to change so I didn't bother with getting one (was going to be a christmas present for my brother).

Steamdeck will be a bit weaker in games even at the recommended resolution of the inbuild monitor, if you connect it to a 1080 monitor it will be considerably weaker in games.
Yes you should be able to connect a hub for keyboard mouse whatever else but it will also have an official dock with display out and everything you will need.

There should be no lag whatsoever outside of maybe lowish framerate in some games.

it could, if you love low frame rates and crappy images.
Given the chip shortage I really dont see an advantage in your giving up your desktop right now.

Depends on the games you play, and at what settings. It's possible to tweak and get 45-60fps in many games, even some newer ones from what I've read/watched.

Theoretically... yes..
Practicality... no..

A lot of things can theoretically be okey, its just how desperate you are, and how much your willing to sacrifice.
