Can a Socket A HeatSink be modified to work on a 939 board?

anyone? i just got my 939 3500+ 90 nm CPU. SWEET, one problem i didn't order a HS, now i'm gonna have to wait another couple of days. i have 3 or 4 good socket A HS's sitting around, can any of them be modified to fit on the 939 board?

Well, if you want to get really technical, you probably could modify something to fit on there. However, there's nothing simple/easy you can do to get one to fit onto the S754/S939 retention mechanisms; they're VERY different.

You could probably do it with some simple wire to hold the heatsink in place. I wouldn't do it, but I'm sure it would work just the same.
