Can a SMC barricade router get hacked?

Let me first say that I'm not too familiar with networking. Since a couple of days ago, my cable modem's TD light has been blinking like crazy. I have a SMC barricade router that I use to share my connection with 2 other computers. Even when I disconnect all 3 computers from the router, the TD light still blinks like crazy. I hope I'm not being used as part of a DOS attack.

Don't worry about it. It's computers infected with the Code Red virus scanning ports. We all are getting it. Look around and you'll see a bunch of discussions about it, even in this forum and probably on the first 2 pages!

I thought I was special since it was the TD light that was blinking instead of the RD light like everyone else.
