Can a power failure damage your pc ?

This morning there was a power failure and i would like to know what damages can this have on your pc ? thanks

A power failure can harm your computer, but it seems to be something of a random thing. Where I live, we get frequent power "blips", where the power fails for like a second, and comes back on - probably something touching the line. In any event, I ended up replacing my computer's power supply 3 times in 5 years before I got wise and got an UPS system. It also told me that the quality of the power was okay aside from the spikes. And yes, the computer was on a Belkin surge protector...

You might have gotten lucky this time, but don't assume that you're peachy. Get a UPS, even if it's a small one.

Yep that happens with Kazaa if the PC turns off midstream 🙁

If your PC ever locks up while downloading on Kazaa the same will apply 🙁

I guess it could damage it, but it would have to be a really strong surge to get past most surge protectors and do damage. There was some electrical wiring thing I read which explained it, but I don't remember what it was or where i read it.

Anyway, if it happens often, just get a UPS or something and you'll be fine. If it happens once every few months, don't worry, just make sure you're using it on a surge protector.
