If a person is born into middle class, are they destined to stay there? And does the same go for lower class, and upper classmen as well?

Is this along the lines of "it's what you make of it"?

Most of the time? No.
You can take the person out of the trailer park but you can't take the trailer park out of the person is true most of the time.
However, there are instances where this is not true. Some of the classiest people I've met have been poorer than dirt, and I've met some people who come from a long line of money and they were some of the lowest scum I've ever seen.
Upon further thought, its more or less up to how you define class. Is it wealth? Is it personality? Is it due to what culture you subscribe to? Some combination?
For me, class is all about how you treat others and handle yourself. Just because you go to the opera and openings at the Louvre doesn't make you a classy person. Neither does having money. However, its not just your personality, as you can treat others well but that doesn't necessarily mean you have class.
Its very possible for poor to become wealthy. In fact, I'd say its easier to do that than to go from middle class wealth to upper class wealth.
Its much more difficult to change your affluency. If you enjoy monster truck rallies, its difficult to thumb your nose at it and become an opera lover.
I've always found myself to be somewhat odd when it comes to this. I enjoy the finer things of life. I like classical music, I like dining at nice restaurants, and I like doing formal things (so getting dressed up in a tux, etc.). However at the same time, I do enjoy a good drag race, I like crude lowbrow humor, and I like simple baseless entertainment. For me, things like that doesn't really matter much. I just try to carry myself and treat others with a certain level of dignity and respect and find the things that are important to me.
I like art, but I'm no connesieur. For me, an exceptional painting is no more or less meritible than a nice day out on the beach with some friends having some fun drinking.
I guess to me, I would say that true class has no real boundaries. I don't know that I would say its possible to attain class. Perhaps with very strict discipline, but its mostly inherent in your being. If you have class, it doesn't matter where you are in life, rich or poor, you will exhibit it.
Wow, what a rumbling incoherent mess that is.![]()

Wow, so all I have to do is choose to become wealthy? Great! I hereby choose. Wait, it didn't work.

Easily. Look at Indonesia's (or was it India's[/i]) president. He was a paria when he was born (untouchable, and not in the good way). Now he's friggin' president!
