Can a monitor be both Invar Shadow Mask and Aperture Grille?

Can a monitor be both Invar Shadow Mask and Aperture Grille? CTX lists both things for one of their monitors next to the picture here.

Thanks!

Just as a guess, it's a typo. They don't offer Trinitron tubes (Aperture Grill) until you get to their Professional series.

Nope, it's either or MidiGuy, hope this helps 🙂

That must be a typo.

Aperture grille and invar shadow mask are two completely different designs. AG uses slotted pixels (better for graphics and gaming). ISM uses standard square-shaped pixels (generally better for office applications where the best text clarity is a must).

Ok, thanks everybody! That brings up another question - what "bricks and mortar" store can I go to to find aperture grille monitors? My local stores don't have a very wide selection. I would order one online, but I'm extremly picky (especially since I'm on a tight budget), and if I don't like what I get, it could be a big waste of money because of shipping back and forth. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I've seen them at CompUSA, BB & even at Costco. Remember, though, the stores' inventory may vary depending on the region.
