can a mod merge my threads into another one?

in the console gaming forum i created an "official" thread for the MS and Sony conferences. could a mod just merge them into the "official" Xbox1 and PS4 threads instead? both threads are very active right now and seem to be talking about the same thing.
 
At this point I'd rather leave them separate. The E3 threads will die down in a few days, and most of its content is a running commentary on the E3 presentation.

Merging threads with over 500 replies into threads with over 1,000 replies would probably generate more confusion than consolidation.
