Well I'm in the market for a laptop that can run CAD programs, specifically CATIA by Dassult systems. link to catia
However, I have found that workstation cards like ATI FireGL and Nvidia Quadro are really expensive to get, especially so in laptops. I noticed that in terms of hardware, the FireGL V3200 is actually based on the X600. From what I know, the main difference between gaming/mainstream cards and workstation graphics are drivers, not hardware.
I was especially interested in the IBM t43p (V3200), but it costs alot! Will a much cheaper laptop like the IBM z60M with an x600 be able to run CATIA?
Thanks in advance
