Can a MicroATX board be mounted in an ATX case?

As the title states I'm wondering if it's possible to mount a MicroATX motherboard in a full ATX case? I realize that there's plenty of room for it, but would the mounting holes on the motherboard line up with the mounting holes in the case?

It should. Some new all-in-one motherboards have the NIC connector above the USB ports, and some older ATX cases may not have the right backplate. However, some mobo manufacturers have thought of this and include a backplate that should do fine. If not, you should be able to pick one up at the FS forum.

Well, this will be for an older motherboard and an older case. Here is the motherboard in question, and I want to mount it in an old Enlight ATX case (I believe the model number is 7237, not 100% sure though). I need to do a cheap upgrade to my brothers system and I need to get a board, processor, memory, case and maybe a hard drive for under $150. The Enlight case is a leftover from my last upgrade so I thought I could save him some money if I could just use my old one.

Can anyone confirm if this will work?

Micro-ATX boards should fit standard ATX cases with no problems. Its not the same case if you try to fit a standard ATX mobo to a micro-ATX case.
