I actually have two friends asking me this question that I don't know.

Like they want to have 3+ computers connected to a WiFi 802.11G station *Such as a D-Link or LinkSys etc. etc*. Two of the computers are Windows- based, one is Mac based (iBooks). Can they easily do this with any old router or do they need the Mac AirPort Base station?

Yes. I have two PCs connected to my Linksys wifi router, as well as my iBook via its Airport 802.11b card.

It'll probably say on the box what it works with.
I have a router that on the box says Win 9x, 2k, XP, Linux and Mac.
If it says that, it should work.

Do you have to do anything special with the Mac? Like settings wise? Or does it just automatically connect?
