Can a GeForce 8800 GT be plugged into a regular TV?

I was curious whether or not my GeForce 8800 GT card could be hooked up to a regular TV by some means. The card came with a connector for HDTV, but I noticed that on the card, it says "HDTV + TV Out". Is it possible to hook it up to a standard television set, and if so, what would I need? Thanks.

It should have an S-Video output (or some form of universal output that can send s-video signals), it's the round one anyway. Either use the cables that come in the box or buy an s-video lead and plug into s-video connector on your TV and you're good to go.

See, the cable that came for the box are apparently for HDTV only (at least I'm pretty sure). It has a plug for the S-video, then on the other end it has green, blue, and red plug-ins. Does an S-video cable for a regular TV just have a yellow plug-in, or does it have all three (yellow, white, and red)? Just wanna be sure to get the right stuff before I go. Thanks.

Also, I'm not planning on using the television for game playing or anything like that, just to be able to show people a few things in Windows so they can all see rather than just on my normal monitor. Peace.

I should also add that if you TV doesn't have s-video in you can use an s-video to scart cable or adaptor, but make sure the scart socket on your TV can accept s-video signals or you'll get a black and white picture. I think some/most/all TV outputs on graphics card can send a composite signal as well which works on all TV's, although the picture quality isn't as good.

S-Video plugs look like this, and one of those cables will plug directly into your card, my EVGA 8800gt came with one. The yellow plug is composite, and that would require an S-Video to composite cable or either cable along with an adapter. The red and white plugs shaped the same as the composite plugs are the right and left audio channels respecively. So unless you need sound you won't need those, but if you do you can just get a 1/8 stero minijack to RCA adapter.

I use an S-Video cable hooked up to my 27" SDTV for watching movies and tv shows that I bittorrent. It looks slightly worse than the direct cable feed does, but is perfectly serviceable if you're not a videophile nutcase.

I dont think you need to be a videophile nutcase to be horrified at the image quality....I will actually consider someone enjoying it to be nutcase on the other hand....

SD video on a SD TV isn't too bad actaully, but Windows looks horrible.
