Can a Dell 700m use PC 2100 Ram?

I am getting a dell 700m, the dell manual says that it only takes 200 pin PC2700 SODIMMs, but it uses the same chipset as the dell 600m.

The dell 600m can take PC2100 SODIMMS.

Anyone have any experience with PC2100 or see any reason why the 700m on the same chipset with the same bus configs as the 600m would require PC2700 versus PC2100?

Thanks,

Midnight

Yes, it will work fine. The 700m uses an asynchronus bus, so the FSB is @ 100MHz and the memory bus is 166MHz. If you have a stick of PC2700 it will drop down to match the other module.
