My time has been slippin on my comp lately, I was just wondering if a completely dead battery cause a comp not to boot. I have an Asus A7V 133 and it is giving me the long beep and shutting off, I was just wondering is a computer HAS to have the battery in it to work. Thanks

The battery is to keep the bios "alive", it provides the power to save all your bios settings and keep the time on the system clock. If your comp has been losing time, it's a good chance that the battery is indeed dead. Replace it and give it a try.. 🙂
