Can a computer post without memory?

I have a computer that doesn't work, and it would help if it posted without memory.

It's probably more helpful if the computer posted with memory, as the computer needs memory to load things. Besides memory is dirt cheap. Buy some cheap memory. Of course, is it possible the computer "won't work" because there is no RAM installed. That might fix your problem if that is, indeed, the case.
