EDIT: BTW it doesn't matter if you can't get the thing in gear for 10 HOURS, the clock at a drag strip doesn't start until the beam is broke

I bet I could buy a used Corvette for the same amount as a used Civic, build both of the cars up using the same amount of mod money, and the Corvette would absolutely slaughter the civic.

Comparing a modified car to a stock car is not an easy comparison. I personally would rather compare cars either stock vs. stock or modded vs modded. They are two very different classes of cars.

Until I see a timeslip or a pic of it as it's happening, I'm not gonna buy anyone's story of a bad driver making a car that runs a 30MPH faster 1/4 mile losing to a Civic. It'd be pretty slow. Lightning = 4650lbs, does 1/4 mile in low 13's. HD = 6750, does 1/4 mile low 14's possibly. Econolines weigh, well, they're not light. High 15's would be all that you could get out of it. Of course, add on a #6 pulley, chip, Factory Tech Valve Body and I'm sure you could get mid 14's out of it, or a Works blower. (There's a guy making like 700+ hp with a Works blower on his 03 Cobra....w/out nitrous)

Not to mention the actual cost in doing such a thing. Car + mods + hard work involved (self-inflicted or mechanic) is a pretty hard thing (and stupid, too) to give up.
