Can a bunch of 17 y/o get a motel/hotel?

i'm planning on going down to LA w/ some friends but we're all 17. would we be able to book a motel/hotel?

Should be able to. I booked a weekend in Catalina for 2 when I was 17.

I know here in Canada you can, not too sure about america, me and my buddies have had our share of hotel parties, the last one we were kicked out of the holiday inn, ahhh fun times....

Just try until you find one that lets you.

Probably, but I'd check first, and try to be a little more subtle than, "Yeah, me a bunch of my friends are looking for a place to PARTY!!! Oh, and we're all 17, can you help us out?" 😛

just called a few places and they said they check for id and you need to be 18 🙁

theres fake id vendors all over the streets of la, go on alavera street and get a crappy one for $50 it will do the job for a hotel and u can even get some liquor while your down here too 😉

alot of them need a credit card number on hand in case you trash the room. If you can get your parents' then you might be alright

You'd probably need a CC at least. Motel 6 we were able to pay cash, but we were 18.

Doubtful as that is a "debit" card and not a credit card.

It's worth a try though.

Anything with the Visa logo will go through as credit. Book online, and you're all set.

They wouldn't know your age on the booking as long as you reserved with a CC.

shady ones only, most of them require you to be 18 and present an ID

EDIT: While booking with a CC is a good idea I tried i when I was 17 and when I got to the desk to get my key they asked for ID and denied me cause I wasn't 18. It's a gamble. I tried to get an older guy to get my room key at another hotel but they asked for ID as well and of course his name didn't match mine. We slept in the car.

I've never come across a hotel or motel that didn't have at least an 18 age-limit. Ones without other people's sperm doing backstrokes all over the beds that is.
