Was planning on picking one up here in a few weeks... Or even an X800. Of course both cards will scale better with a A64 or P4 @ 3.3 or above... But will i be wasting some of the card if i get it for the 1700+@2.4?

But is it worth it, or should i grab a A64 first?

:) Thanks

You are looking good. In fact I'm going to go ahead and post the benchies I have now using different CPUs with the 6800GT and I'll just update with the A64 results later tonight after I get the new PSU installed. I'll have the results up in less than 5 minutes so watch for them :)

Oh yeah it can. I've got a mobile Athlon XP 2600+ @ 2.2GHz (my board won't allow any faster :() and my 6800 GT runs GREAT on it.
