Can a 939 socket cpu be used with an AM2 mobo?

THis might seem like a very silly question, but i was wondering if i can use my old 939 amd 3800 x2 cpu with the newer am2 mobos. i know i have to upgrade to ddr, but my old mobo recently stopped working and im looking for a replacement. thanks in advance
