I'm just wondering, because im planning to build a shuttle for my friend who really needs one that is for gaming. yea i know shuttle and gaming dont really go hand in hand, but he travels a lot because of his gaming and wants something that can handle 100fps constant in CS:S as well as small enough(i.e shuttle) to put in a backpack.

The wattage is not as important as the amps on the 12v rail, nvidia lists the requirement as 26a on the 12v for the GTS cards, I'm guessing that PS doesn't meet that requirement.
I would also be concerned that an 8800GTS would even fit in a shuttle micro case, and even if you could squeeze it in there would it have sufficient air flow??

You don't need an 8800GTS to get high framerates for CS:S. Even something as old as a 9800 can push those framerates.

The Microfly can fit a 8800GTS without problems. As far as 2 PCIe slots, well, you'd have to find a SLi/Crossfire mATX board first. I personally have not seen one (not that I've looked too hard either).

It's CS:S...not something advanced. It's a 3D engine over 3 years old. I played CS:S fine on my 9700 Pro.

nice. Kinda reminds me of when I pushed my OEM 250 watt Dell power supply in my ole Dell SC600 (bought it back when they had the $100 MIR and free second hard drive, and with a stackable 15% off coupon. Server and a pair of 120GB drives came out to under $400 back when 120GB drives were brand spankin new and going for $150+)

Anyhow, I got it to boot and run fine with the 1.8ghz celeron, 2 sticks of ram, dual ethernet, cdrom, SATA card, and 8 hard drives (as well as various fans, etc) on the stock PSU .... (I replaced the chassis with an old full tower case I had) I tried to add a 9th hard drive ... and no matter what, it wouldn't recognize the 9th drive. I upgraded it to a 350 watt power supply and it's been humming along ever since.

If it is Extremely Important what does it matter if the current PSU can do it.

A new Power Supply, whether Needed or Not, should not stand in the way of Extremely Important.

maybe wait until the 8800GT or 2950 are released as they should consume less power and generate less heat, however the PSU should be able to handle a 8800GTS.
