Can a 180cc with ABS be considered a fast bike?

Bikes like that teach the value of momentum.
Once you get up to speed...you don't want to do anything to lose momentum.
Its like driving some of the turds they have in europe on the motorway.

It teaches you to be smooth. It forces you to take corners a little faster. It forces you to plan ahead.
On something with power you don't think twice about hitting the brakes or slowing down for certain scenarios.
On bikes like what's mentioned by the OP, you think twice about scrubbing the precious speed it took you all day to get up to.

I am purchasing Apache 180 RTR ABS. Can it be considered fast in the bike world?

An SV650 isn't even considered fast in the bike world.

Fast is all relative though and your skill level when you start out will be low so a less powerful, lightweight bike is the best choice you can make.

I don't think there has been a car made (in the US) in the past 15 years that's as slow.

I will never buy a bike without ABS.

otherwise, no, not fast, unless it's like...deisel...with a super high compression turbo...just maybe it could be considered 'not slow'

Ehh, street legal 125cc bikes generally max out at like 30-35hp. Racing 125cc bikes I think top out in the 50+ hp range.

If you assumed that a 180cc is 44% bigger than a 125cc, and if the power scaled linearly, then that would be like 50 or so HP from the 180cc street bike, or 70hp from race tuned 180cc...

So, a modern 180cc street bike, with high power output engine, would be about as fast as .. a Vincent Black Shadow (essentially "fastest motorcycle" in 1950)

Compared to a Huffy that thing will scream.

What is the bike world like in India anyway? It is probably fast enough.
I've only been there once but (a) you rarely get over 45mph and if you get a ticket it's pretty harsh, and (b) bikes comprise a HUGE percentage of personal transportation, and most of them are probably 125cc so this one would be pretty speedy comparatively. You'll commonly see an entire family (man, wife, couple of kids) scooting around on small motorcycles...the funniest thing is when the man has a helmet but nobody else on the bike does.

How about a little under 20hp...say about 17HP at the crank if the temperature is right? Tha's what those bikes make

Black Shadows were anywhere from 50HP to 70HP depending if it was built on Monday or Thursday.
At the very least it was a triple digit machine.

Yea, I saw the earlier replies, I was just coming up with a rough/theoretical 180cc ... street tuned bike could make ... the specific 180cc that the OP mentioned is not a fast bike, but, a 180cc in theory could be decently quick ...

well, I only know the black shadow from TG episode with Richard Hammond racing on a Shadow.. (im not a bike expert, just an ambitious googler)

The best ones probably came from Tuesday or Weds. Monday they would be hungover, Thursday and Friday they would be focused on the weekend ahead ...

That's kind of what I figured. I had to google the bike the OP is talking about because I've never heard of it before and found that it is only sold in India and a couple nearby countries.

Here in 'Murica that thing would be considered slow (even compared to a Harley) but in India it should be plenty speedy.
