Can a 1333FSB CPU be used on a 1066FSB mobo?

I would like to upgrade my daughter's computer cuz it has been acting up lately (reason for my new one). I need an AGP mobo for a ATI all in wonder card I don't want to change out. Found a ASRock 4CoreDual-SATA2 LGA 775, but it is only a 1066FSB. Was looking at the Conroe E6550 which is a 1333FSB. This chip is not listed in the mobo's chip compatibility section (old list??) Other Conroe's and Kentsfields are, but no 1333's

Is there any reason other than the speed wouldn't be fully optimized??

It should work but you may need to update BIOS. The Abit IP35-E is a better board. Should be very similar to IP35 Pro. The $20 and $5 Pricegrabber rebates should re-surface, lowering the cost to about $61.

Go with a 1066 cpu. The difference in performance compared to a 1333 at the same speed is about 3-5% in most applications. You won't notice much difference.

I'll back up oldie, you're obviously not doing any high end gaming if your using an old AGP card so a good bet would be to go cheap, the practical difference between a E21x0 and an E6xx0 isn't humongous so go cheap.
