I have been asking similar questions lately.
I have one of those PCMCIA 1.8" hard drives (Toshiba 2 GB). They fit directly in to the PCMCIA/PC card slot of the laptop. It is seen by the Os as removable drive. I want to use it also in a desktop. I bought a PCI adapter for PCMCIa wireless LAN (works fine, but has the little inconvenient of being rear slot....)
I saw on fleabay a USB media card reader that says (reads also Toshiva 2 GB pcmcia drive) Is it true, are there readers that can read/write these disks?? If they can, I will wait for a multiformat reader that is USB 2.0/firewire.
What do you know about them???
